For the control of coccidiosis caused by Eimeria bovis and Eimeria zurnii in replacement calves. This product contains 45 milligrams of lasalocid per pound. Feed to provide 45 milligrams of lasalocid per 100 pounds (1 mg/2.2 lbs) of body weight daily. Feed during periods of coccidiosis exposure or when experience indicates coccidiosis is likely to be a problem.

Warning

Withdrawal period has not been established for lasalocid in pre-ruminating calves. Do not use in calves to be processed for veal.

Ingredients

Feeding Instructions

In any calf raising program, it is important that calves receive first milk colostrum during the first 24 hours of life (first feeding within 1 hour following birth). Begin feeding CALVITA MILK REPLACER on the second day of life.

Mixing

Sprinkle 1/2 lb.* (see table below) of milk replacer into a bucket of warm water (110°F) and bring to a total volume of 2 quarts. Each quart of milk replacer will then contain 11.25 milligrams of lasalocid.

Cold Weather Mixing

Add 1-2 oz. per feeding of a high quality hi-fat source to increase the total energy level of the milk replacer during periods of cold stress.

Always make reconstituted milk replacer as needed for immediate feeding.

Feeding

Beginning on day 2, introduce milk replacer. Feed at a rate to provide 45 mg of lasalocid/100 lbs of body weight daily. Feed the following amounts of milk replacer per calf twice per day:

Management Tips

For best mixing, sprinkle milk replacer powder onto water.

Use a wire whisk to agitate powder and water.

Fresh, clean water should be available at all times.

Feeding and mixing equipment should be cleaned after each feeding.

Introduce a good quality calf starter at 7 days of age.

Offer free choice hay after weaning.

Wean calves when eating at least 1-1/2 to 2 lbs. calf starter per head per day for 3 consecutive days.

* One full measure (enclosed in bag) holds approximately 10 oz. (0.625 lb) of dry milk replacer. Measure filled to the 8 oz line holds approximately 1/2 lb of dry milk replacer. Check cup quantity periodically.
